Target Information
The Fanconi anemia complementation group (FANC) includes FANCA, FANCB, FANCC, FANCD1 (BRCA2), FANCD2, FANCE, FANCF, FANCG, FANCI, FANCJ (BRIP1), FANCL, FANCM, and FANCN (PALB2).
Fanconi anemia is a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder characterized by cytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA crosslinking agents, and defective DNA repair.
These proteins assemble into a common nuclear complex involved in DNA repair.
The FANCI gene encodes the protein for complementation group I, and alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
