Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broad immunoreactivity due to large rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody specifically recognizes Human CD171/N-CAML1/L1CAM.
Target Information
L1CAM (CD171) is an axonal glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Its ectodomain consists of multiple immunoglobulin-like and fibronectin type III domains, connected via a transmembrane sequence to a conserved cytoplasmic domain.
This molecule plays a key role in nervous system development, including neuronal migration and differentiation. Mutations in the L1CAM gene are associated with X-linked neurological syndromes collectively known as CRASH (corpus callosum hypoplasia, retardation, aphasia, spastic paraplegia, and hydrocephalus). Alternative splicing of a neuron-specific exon is believed to be functionally significant.
