ALDH9A1은 aldehyde dehydrogenase 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, γ-aminobutyraldehyde 및 기타 아미노 알데하이드의 산화 반응에 높은 활성을 보입니다. 이 효소는 γ-aminobutyraldehyde를 γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)로 탈수소화하며, 동일한 54 kDa 소단위체 4개로 구성된 테트라머 형태를 가집니다.
