Product Specific Information

MA1-104 detects Oct4/POU5F1 in human embryonic carcinoma samples, but not in adult samples such as HeLa cells.
This antibody does not show reactivity in mouse embryonic cell lines (e.g., F9 embryonic carcinoma cells).
It has been successfully used in FACS, IF, and WB applications.
By Western blot, it detects a band at 40 kDa in human NCCIT and NTERA-2 embryonal carcinoma cells, but not in negative control cells.


Target Information

POU5F1 (Oct-4) is a maternally expressed octamer-binding transcription factor essential for early embryonic development.
Its role in maintaining pluripotency makes it a key factor in stem cell and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell research.
Expression of POU5F1 along with Sox2, Klf4, Lin28, and c-Myc enables the generation of iPS cells from somatic cells without viral vectors, enhancing safety for regenerative medicine applications.
