Target Information
Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) 또는 Amyloid beta precursor protein은 세포 표면 kinesin I 막 수용체로서 작용하며, beta-secretase와 presenilin 1의 축삭 수송을 매개합니다. APP는 신경돌기 성장, 신경 세포 부착, 축삭 형성에 중요합니다.
APP는 100–140 kDa의 막관통 당단백질로, 대체 스플라이싱에 의해 여러 동형체로 존재합니다.
β- 및 γ-secretase에 의한 APP의 단백질분해는 β-amyloid를 생성하며, 이는 노인성 플라크의 주요 구성 성분입니다. 이러한 플라크는 Alzheimer’s disease의 주요 병리학적 특징 중 하나입니다.
APP의 비정상적인 조절 및 처리 과정은 Down syndrome, 조기 발병형 가족성 Alzheimer’s disease, 뇌출혈 등과도 관련이 있습니다.
