Target Information
UNC5CL is a membrane protein belonging to the UNC-5 family with a death domain and a ZU5 domain. It interacts with p65/RELA and NFKB1, and with subunit p105 of NF-kappaB and transactivator p65. UNC5CL inhibits NF-kappaB activation and NF-kappaB-dependent transcription by preventing NF-kappaB binding to its target sequence, providing an alternative regulatory mechanism for NF-kappaB-mediated transcription. This regulatory protein sensitizes cells to apoptosis induced by TNF and TRAIL.
