Product Specific Information

The IM7 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of mouse CD44 (Pgp-1). CD44 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells, including bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells. Peripheral B and T cells can upregulate CD44 expression. CD44 functions as an adhesion molecule through binding to hyaluronate.

Super Bright 780 is a tandem dye excited at 405 nm and emits at 780 nm. Recommended filter: 780/60 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

For compensation, set with cells rather than beads when using UltraComp eBeads (Product # 01-2222) or AbC Total Antibody Compensation beads (Product # A10497).

Fixation: Samples can be stored with IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.

Target Information

CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, brain white matter, and epithelial cells. It serves as a receptor for hyaluronic acid and mediates cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration. CD44 is involved in lymphocyte activation and homing, and its expression may increase in certain carcinomas, possibly linked to metastatic potential. Multiple isoforms exist due to complex alternative splicing.

Diseases associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus. CD44 may also relate to tumor metastasis formation.
