Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
Upon arrival, store at −20°C.
The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
For longer storage, aliquot and store at −20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
The Vesicular GABA Amino Acid Transporter (VGAT) is responsible for transporting the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA into synaptic vesicles (McIntire et al., 1997).
VGAT, also known as Vesicular Inhibitory Amino Acid Transporter (VIAAT), is expressed in synaptic vesicles of both glycinergic and GABAergic synapses throughout the CNS (Chaudhry et al., 1998).
Expression of VGAT varies during development and in response to neuronal activity patterns (De et al., 2005).
