Product Specific Information
- In Western blots, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Integrin alpha 5 and recombinant mouse Integrin E is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
ITAGV encodes integrin alpha chain V. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. The I-domain containing integrin alpha V undergoes post-translational cleavage to yield disulfide-linked heavy and light chains, which combine with multiple integrin beta chains to form different integrins.
Among the known associating beta chains (β1, β3, β5, β6, and β8; ITGB1, ITGB3, ITGB5, ITGB6, and ITGB8), each can interact with extracellular matrix ligands. The αVβ3 integrin, also known as the Vitronectin receptor (VNR), is one of the most studied.
In addition to adhesion, many integrins facilitate signal transduction. The ITGB3 protein product is the integrin beta chain β3, which combines with the alpha IIb chain in platelets. Integrins participate in cell adhesion and cell-surface mediated signaling.
