Target Information

The 14-3-3 gamma protein belongs to the 14-3-3 family, which mediates signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. This conserved protein family is present in both plants and mammals. The 14-3-3 gamma protein is identical to the rat ortholog and is induced by growth factors in human vascular smooth muscle cells. It is highly expressed in skeletal and heart muscles, indicating an important role in muscle tissue. It interacts with RAF1 and protein kinase C, key proteins in various signal transduction pathways.
