Product Specific Information

The eBioCB-CALLA monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD10 (CALLA, NEP, enkephalinase, Neprilysin), a 100 kDa type II cell surface glycoprotein originally identified on most acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL). CD10 is a Zn²⁺-dependent metallo-peptidase involved in regulation of chemotactic and inflammatory processes involving neutrophils. It also plays a role in stromal cell-dependent B lymphopoiesis and is expressed on mature B cells in germinal centers, as well as in enterocytes and renal tubular cells.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL total volume.

Target Information

CD10 (Common Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Antigen, CALLA) is a cell surface enzyme with neutral metalloendopeptidase activity that inactivates various biologically active peptides. It is expressed on lymphoblastic, Burkitt’s, and follicular germinal center lymphomas, as well as immature B cells in adult bone marrow and CML cells. CD10 is also found in breast myoepithelial cells, bile canaliculi, fibroblasts, and highly expressed in kidney and gut epithelial brush borders.

CD10 cleaves peptides at the amino side of hydrophobic residues, inactivating peptide hormones such as glucagon, enkephalins, substance P, neurotensin, oxytocin, and bradykinin. It is a 100 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by a gene with multiple alternatively spliced 5′ untranslated regions.
