Target Information

ZNF322 contains four exons and spans 23.2 kb in the chromosome 6p22.1 region, and transcribes a 2.7 kb mRNA encoding a protein with 402 amino acid residues.
Northern blot analysis shows ZNF322 expression in all human tissues examined at adult and embryonic stages (80 days to 24 weeks).
When overexpressed in COS-7 cells, ZNF322–EGFP fusion protein localizes to both nucleus and cytoplasm.
Reporter gene assays indicate ZNF322 functions as a transcriptional activator.
Overexpression of ZNF322 activates transcriptional activity of SRE and AP-1, suggesting that ZNF322 is a zinc-finger transcription factor involved in positive regulation of gene transcription mediated by MAPK signaling pathways.
