Target Information
The Schlafen (SLFN) family of proteins are preferentially expressed in lymphoid tissues and are differentially regulated during thymocyte maturation. These proteins are thought to play roles in cell growth, hematopoietic cell differentiation, and T cell development and maturation. Most members contain at least one divergent AAA domain (AAA_4) that may be involved in ATP binding.
SLFN14 is a recently identified member of this family, and its specific role remains to be determined.
