Target Information
Galactose-specific lectin that binds IgE. May mediate, with alpha-3 and beta-1 integrin, CSPG4-induced endothelial cell migration. Together with DMBT1, it is required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. In the nucleus, acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor. Involved in acute inflammatory responses including neutrophil activation and adhesion, monocyte/macrophage chemoattraction, opsonization of apoptotic neutrophils, and mast cell activation.
