Target Information
ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed and regulate meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells. They are activated by various stimuli including growth factors, cytokines, and G protein-coupled receptor ligands. Upon activation, ERKs phosphorylate cytoplasmic targets or migrate to the nucleus to activate transcription factors such as c-Fos and Elk-1.
