Target Information
H2AX is a variant of the H2A protein family and a component of the histone octamer in nucleosomes. It is phosphorylated by kinases such as ATM and ATR in the PI3K pathway.
Phosphorylated H2AX (γ-H2AX) is a key marker for DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), facilitating the recruitment of DNA repair proteins.
γ-H2AX foci formation corresponds directly to DSBs, making it a reliable biomarker for DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation, cytotoxic agents, or environmental stress.
This antibody is widely used for assessing genomic damage and studying DNA repair mechanisms.
