This antibody detects endogenous levels of Chk1 only when phosphorylated at Serine 296.
Target Information
CHEK1 (CHK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase involved in maintaining DNA integrity by preventing replication under conditions of DNA damage. It is a key mediator in the DNA damage-induced checkpoint network and functions to ensure genomic stability under genotoxic stress. When CHK1 is inhibited, p53-deficient cancer cells undergo mitotic catastrophe and apoptosis, while normal cells remain arrested in the G1 phase. Therefore, CHK1 is an attractive therapeutic target for cancer treatment, particularly in p53-deficient tumors.
