Target Information
STRA6 is a membrane protein involved in retinol metabolism. It acts as a receptor for retinol/retinol-binding protein complexes, facilitating retinol transport across the cell membrane. Mutations in this gene are associated with syndromic microphthalmia type 9 (MCOPS9).
