Target Information
MEPCE는 S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase로, 7SK snRNA의 5’-end에 methylphosphate cap을 추가하여 안정화시키는 역할을 합니다 (PubMed:17643375, 19906723, 30559425). 또한 7SK RNP complex의 구성 요소로서 비효소적 기능을 수행하며, P-TEFb를 비활성화된 복합체 형태로 유지하여 RNA polymerase II의 인산화 및 전사 연장을 억제합니다. 7SK RNP complex는 LEC와의 상호작용을 통해 snRNA 유전자 전사를 촉진합니다 (PubMed:28254838). MEPCE는 7SK RNA를 안정화하고 복합체의 조립을 돕는 데 필수적이며, LARP7과의 결합을 통해 촉매 중심을 차단하는 비효소적 기능도 수행합니다 (PubMed:19906723). [UniProt]
