Thimet Oligopeptidase (THOP1)은 amyloid beta-peptide(Abeta)의 분해를 촉진하는 효소로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 항원 제시, 20개 이하 아미노산 신경펩타이드의 대사, 세포질 펩타이드 분해 과정에도 관여합니다. Abeta의 steady-state 수준은 APP로부터의 생합성(β 및 γ-secretase 작용)과 다양한 단백질 분해효소에 의한 분해 간의 균형에 의해 결정됩니다.
