Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) IL-22 R alpha 1 is observed.
- No cross-reactivity with rhIL-20 R alpha, recombinant mouse (rm) IL-20 R alpha, rhIL-22BP, or rmIL-22BP is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
IL-22 (also known as IL-TIF, IL-10 related T cell-derived inducible factor) is a novel cytokine whose receptor, IL-22R (also termed CRF2-9 or IL-TIF-R1 chain), belongs to the class II cytokine receptor family.
IL-22R forms a complex with IL-10 receptor beta chain to mediate IL-22 signaling via the JAK-STAT pathway.
IL-22R is expressed in normal liver and kidney, as well as in cell lines HepG2 and TK-10.
A soluble form of IL-22 receptor, IL-22 binding protein (IL-22BP or IL-22RA2), was recently identified. IL-22BP prevents IL-22 from binding to the functional IL-22R complex, thereby neutralizing IL-22 activity.
LPS induces IL-22 expression, indicating its role in the inflammatory response.
