Target Information
TRPM5는 이온 채널 특성을 가진 transient receptor potential 단백질군의 구성원으로, 맛 수용 과정에서 중요한 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 칼슘에 의해 활성화되는 비선택적 양이온 채널로 Na⁺, K⁺, Cs⁺ 이온을 잘 통과시키며, 낮은 농도의 세포 내 Ca²⁺에 의해 활성화되고 높은 농도에서는 억제됩니다. 또한 온도 민감성이 높아 15–35°C에서 급격한 inward current 증가를 보입니다. 이 유전자는 염색체 11p15.5의 Beckwith-Wiedemann 증후군 관련 영역에 위치하며, 부계 대립유전자에서만 발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
