Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between approximately 40 kDa and 68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8.
Human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20, and expression patterns vary by epithelium type and differentiation stage. Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns assist in distinguishing epithelial malignancies. These antibodies are valuable tools for differential tumor diagnosis using immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometric assays.
