RBBP7은 광범위하게 발현되는 핵 단백질로, WD-repeat 단백질의 고도로 보존된 하위 계열에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 세포 증식을 조절하는 retinoblastoma 단백질에 직접 결합하는 여러 단백질 중 하나로, histone deacetylase 복합체(mSin3 co-repressor complex 포함) 및 chromatin assembly 관련 복합체에도 존재합니다. 또한 BRCA1 종양 억제 유전자와 상호작용하여 세포 증식 및 분화 조절에 관여할 수 있습니다.
