Target Information
Caspase 14은 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에 중심적인 역할을 하는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease 계열의 구성원입니다. Caspases는 비활성 전구체(proenzyme) 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 아스파르트 잔기에서 절단되어 큰 소단위와 작은 소단위로 나뉘어 활성 효소를 형성합니다. Caspase 14는 in vitro에서 caspase 8 및 caspase 10에 의해, in vivo에서는 anti-Fas 항체 또는 TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand에 의해 활성화되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한, 이 caspase의 발현 및 처리 과정은 피부 장벽 형성에 중요한 각질형성세포(keratinocyte)의 최종 분화와 관련이 있습니다. CASP14 관련 질환으로는 Ichthyosis, Congenital, Autosomal Recessive 12 및 Autosomal Recessive Congenital Ichthyosis가 보고되어 있습니다.
