Target Information
USP6 is a deubiquitinase with ATP-independent isopeptidase activity, cleaving at the C-terminus of the ubiquitin moiety and catalyzing its own deubiquitination. Isoform 2 shows deubiquitinating activity in vitro, while isoform 3 does not. USP6 promotes plasma membrane localization of ARF6 and selectively regulates ARF6-dependent endocytic protein trafficking. It can initiate tumorigenesis by inducing matrix metalloproteinase production following NF-kappa-B activation.
