Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Antiserum specifically reacts with a 130 kDa Rb2 protein from human, rat, and mouse tissue. No reaction was observed against other related tumor suppressor proteins. Cross-reactivity with Rb2 (p130) from other species may also occur.

Target Information

RBL2 (also known as p130) or Retinoblastoma-like protein 2 is a key regulator of entry into cell division. It is directly involved in heterochromatin formation by maintaining overall chromatin structure and that of constitutive heterochromatin through stabilization of histone methylation.
RBL2 recruits and targets histone methyltransferases KMT5B and KMT5C, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression. It controls histone H4 Lys20 trimethylation and may act as a transcription repressor by recruiting chromatin-modifying enzymes to promoters.
RBL2 serves as a potent inhibitor of E2F-mediated trans-activation and associates preferentially with E2F5.
