Target Information
PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1)은 serine protease inhibitor 계열의 단백질로, tissue-type 및 urokinase-type plasminogen activator(tPA, uPA)의 주요 억제제입니다. 주로 혈소판에서 생성되며, 섬유아세포, 평활근세포, 내피세포, 간세포 및 염증세포 등 다양한 세포에서 합성 및 분비됩니다.
PAI-1의 발현은 성장인자, 사이토카인, 호르몬, 염증 인자, 대사물질, 혈관 조절 인자, 화학물질 등 다양한 요인에 의해 조절됩니다.
비정상적인 PAI-1 발현은 비만, 혈전성 질환, 대사증후군 등과 관련된 혈전 발생 증가와 연관되어 있으며, PAI-1 결핍은 출혈 이상을 유발할 수 있습니다. 또한 PAI-1은 fibrinolysis를 억제하고 신경세포 생존에 기여할 수 있습니다.
PAI-1 유전자는 다양한 스플라이싱 변이를 통해 여러 isoform을 생성합니다.
