This antibody detects endogenous levels of total FOLR2.
Target Information
FOLR2 is a member of the folate receptor (FOLR) family, located in a gene cluster on chromosome 11. These receptors have a high affinity for folic acid and reduced derivatives, mediating delivery of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate into cells. FOLR2 shows 68% and 79% sequence homology with FOLR1 and FOLR3, respectively. Initially thought to be placenta-specific, FOLR2 is also expressed in other tissues and may be involved in methotrexate transport in synovial macrophages of rheumatoid arthritis patients.
