Target Information
MRPL42는 포유류 미토콘드리아 리보솜 단백질로, 핵 유전자에 의해 암호화되어 미토콘드리아 내 단백질 합성에 관여합니다. 미토리보솜은 28S 소단위와 39S 대단위로 구성되며, 단백질 대 rRNA 비율이 약 75%로 원핵 리보솜과 반대입니다. 포유류 미토리보솜은 5S rRNA를 포함하지 않으며, 종에 따라 구성 단백질의 서열과 생화학적 특성이 크게 달라 서열 상동성으로 인식하기 어렵습니다. 이 유전자는 28S 및 39S 단위 모두에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하며, 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사체 변형이 생성됩니다. 해당 유전자의 유사유전자는 염색체 4q, 6p, 6q, 7p, 15q에 존재합니다.
