This peptide corresponds to 19 amino acids near the amino terminus of human SIRT7.
PEP-1082 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20968.
Target Information
SIRT7 is a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologous to the yeast Sir2 protein.
Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes, with SIRT7 included in class IV.
Although the functions of human sirtuins are not yet fully determined, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to:
- Regulate epigenetic gene silencing
- Suppress recombination of rDNA
Studies suggest that human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity.
SIRT7 belongs to class IV of the sirtuin family.
