PEP-0269 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20149.
Target Information
Adipose tissue plays a major role in regulating physiological and pathological processes such as metabolism and immunity by producing and secreting bioactive molecules called adipokines.
The adiponectin/ACRP30 family and its structural and functional paralogs, the C1q/tumor necrosis factor-alpha-related proteins (CTRPs) 1–7, are highly conserved adipokines.
Unlike adiponectin, which is expressed only in differentiated adipocytes, CTRPs are expressed in various tissues.
Structural analysis of adiponectin revealed a link between TNF and C1q-containing proteins, suggesting a common ancestral innate immunity gene.
Multiple isoforms of human CTRP3 have been reported, and it is suggested that CTRP3 may play a role in skeletal development.
