Target Information
이 유전자는 혈액 응고 과정의 인자인 coagulation factor XI을 암호화합니다.
이 단백질은 혈장 내에서 zymogen 형태로 존재하며, 두 개의 동일한 폴리펩타이드 사슬이 이황화 결합으로 연결된 homodimer 구조를 가집니다.
활성화 과정에서 factor XIIa에 의해 내부 펩타이드 결합이 절단되어 활성형인 factor XIa가 형성되며, 이는 factor IX를 활성화하여 내인성 응고 경로의 중간 단계를 유도합니다.
이 인자에 결함이 있을 경우 Rosenthal syndrome(혈액 응고 이상)이 발생할 수 있습니다.
