Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes the 180 kDa 2A subunit from rat, mouse, and human, and does not cross-react with the 2B or 2C subunits.
Storage and Reconstitution:
When stored at -20ºC or below, the lyophilized antibody retains full activity for over one year.
Reconstitute using 50 µL PBS (pH 7.4) to yield a 0.2 mg/mL solution.
If storing at 0–4ºC, add sodium azide to a final concentration of 2 mM.
For longer storage, divide into aliquots and freeze at -20ºC, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors are ionotropic glutamate-gated ion channels involved in long-term potentiation, an activity-dependent increase in synaptic transmission efficiency underlying certain types of memory and learning.
NMDA receptor channels are heteromers composed of the key receptor subunit NMDAR1 (GRIN1) and one or more of the four NMDAR2 subunits: NMDAR2A (GRIN2A), NMDAR2B (GRIN2B), NMDAR2C (GRIN2C), and NMDAR2D (GRIN2D).
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
