Target Information
UBE2T is involved in the covalent conjugation of ubiquitin to proteins, regulating diverse cellular pathways. Ubiquitin is transferred through the coordinated action of E1 (activating enzyme), E2 (conjugating enzyme, such as UBE2T), and E3 (ligase).
UBE2T catalyzes monoubiquitination and is involved in mitomycin-C (MMC)-induced DNA repair, specifically monoubiquitination of FANCD2, a key step in the DNA damage response.
Defects in the UBE2T gene are associated with Fanconi anemia complementation group T.
