Target Information
SIRT3는 효모 Sir2 단백질과 상동성을 가진 sirtuin 단백질 계열의 구성원입니다. sirtuin 계열은 sirtuin core domain을 특징으로 하며 네 가지 클래스(Class I–IV)로 분류됩니다. 인간 sirtuin의 기능은 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았지만, 효모 sirtuin 단백질은 후성유전적 유전자 발현 조절 및 rDNA 재조합 억제에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 연구 결과, 인간 SIRT3 단백질은 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 가진 세포 내 조절 단백질로 기능할 가능성이 제시되고 있습니다. SIRT3는 sirtuin 계열 중 Class I에 속합니다.
