Target Information
Aurora A (AURKA) is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates mitosis by associating with centrosomes. Overexpression of AURKA is observed in various cancers. It plays a critical role in cell cycle regulation during anaphase and telophase, particularly in chromosome segregation at the centrosome/spindle pole region. Aurora A is highly expressed in testis and weakly in skeletal muscle, thymus, and spleen. It is considered a potential target for anticancer drug development.
