MA1-10800 detects CD4 Cytoplasmic Tail from human samples.
It has been successfully used in ELISA, immunofluorescence, and Western blot applications.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues LSEKKTCQCPHRFQKTCSPI of human CD4.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV.
CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but may also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
Tissue-level expression includes thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 functions to initiate or augment T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and Lck kinase.
It may also mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
