Target Information
Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major noncollagenous components of basement membranes. They play roles in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins consist of three non-identical chains (alpha, beta, and gamma; formerly A, B1, and B2) forming a cruciform structure with three short arms and one long arm.
Defects in the LMNB1 gene can cause leukodystrophy, demyelinating, autosomal dominant, adult-onset (ADLD).
