Target Information
TBK1 (TANK-binding kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the IKK family, involved in NF-κB activation and IRF3 signaling. TBK1 plays a critical role in immune and inflammatory response regulation, mediating gene expression through NF-κB pathway activation. It phosphorylates I-κB proteins, leading to their degradation and subsequent NF-κB activation. TBK1, also known as NAK or T2K, activates IKKβ via direct phosphorylation and functions upstream of NIK and the IKK complex. It is essential for protecting embryonic liver cells from apoptosis and is activated by growth factors and PMA.
