The Thermo Scientific Pierce Antibody Clean-Up Kit is designed to remove BSA, gelatin, and other stabilizer proteins from antibody stock solutions prior to amine-based chemical labeling and conjugation procedures.

Description

This complete and easy-to-use kit efficiently removes BSA and gelatin stabilizers (up to 1%) from IgG samples using Thermo Scientific Melon Gel. The gel binds storage proteins, allowing purified antibody to flow through in an amine-free and carboxyl-free buffer.
The recovered antibody is ready for downstream applications such as:

• Biotinylation
• Fluorescent labeling
• Crosslinking
• Immobilization
• Enzymatic fragmentation (e.g., Fab preparation)

Bovine serum albumin (BSA) and gelatin are commonly added as stabilizers (0.2–1%) to maintain antibody stability during storage. However, these proteins interfere with amine-reactive conjugation chemistries used in labeling and immobilization. The Pierce Antibody Clean-up Kit efficiently isolates antibodies from these stabilizers, ensuring compatibility with downstream modification procedures.
