Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed), incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Thymidine Phosphorylase (TP), also known as platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor (PD-ECGF) or gliostatin, catalyzes the reversible phosphorolytic cleavage of thymidine and deoxyuridine to their corresponding bases and 2-deoxyribose-1-phosphate. It acts as a chemotactic and mitogenic factor for endothelial cells and is a non-heparin binding angiogenic factor found in platelets. TP is also involved in converting fluoropyrimidines, cytotoxic agents used in cancer therapy, into active metabolites.
