Target Information

CAMKK1 (CAMKKA) is a serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the Ca²⁺/calmodulin-dependent kinase subfamily.
CaMKKα is part of the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT) transcription complex, which includes cytosolic and nuclear components activated upon T cell receptor stimulation.
This kinase family regulates inducible gene transcription during immune responses and serves as a molecular target for immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin A.
Five transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified, potentially regulating expression of different cytokine genes.
