This antibody has specificity for Human MSR1/CD204.
Target Information
CD204 gene encodes the class A macrophage scavenger receptors, which include three different types (1, 2, 3) generated by alternative splicing. These macrophage-specific trimeric integral membrane glycoproteins are implicated in physiological and pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.
Type 1 and 2 isoforms mediate endocytosis of modified LDLs, while type 3 does not internalize modified LDL and remains trapped in the endoplasmic reticulum, exerting a dominant negative effect on the functional isoforms.
Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
