Target Information
DNAJB14 acts as a co-chaperone with HSPA8/Hsc70, promoting protein folding and trafficking, preventing aggregation, and facilitating ERAD pathway processes (PubMed:24732912). It regulates HSPA8/Hsc70 ATPase and polypeptide-binding activities and can function independently with DNAJB12 to assist maturation of potassium channels KCND2 and KCNH2 (PubMed:27916661). Overexpression leads to formation of nuclear membranous structures (DJANGOs) with DNAJB12 and HSPA8/Hsc70, though their role remains unclear (PubMed:24732912). [UniProt]
