Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-SDPR antibody is specific towards Cavin 2 SDR. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with human SDPR based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with SDPR from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
The serum deprivation-response protein (SDPR) is a calcium-independent phospholipid-binding protein whose expression increases in serum-starved cells. SDPR is a substrate for protein kinase C (PKC) phosphorylation and recruits the polymerase I and transcript release factor (PTRF) to caveolae. Removal of SDPR causes caveolae loss, while over-expression results in caveolae deformation and membrane tubulation. Both SDPR and PTRF, as well as PRKCDBP, are downregulated in breast cancer cell lines and tumor tissue, suggesting cavin family protein expression may serve as a prognostic indicator of breast cancer progression.
