CD98 (4F2)는 type II 막통과 당단백질로, 이종이량체성 아미노산 수송체(HATs)의 heavy chain 역할을 합니다.
CD98은 light chain과 이황화 결합으로 연결되어 있으며, 극성 상피세포에서 수송체 복합체의 세포막 발현과 기저측 위치를 조절합니다.
또한 β1 integrin과 상호작용하여 리간드 친화성을 증가시키며, 아미노산 수송 외에도 세포 융합 및 활성화에 관여합니다.
