Vacuolar-type H⁺-ATPase (V-ATPase)는 진핵세포 내 소기관의 산성화를 담당하는 다중 소단위 효소입니다.
V-ATPase는 ATP 가수분해를 담당하는 주변부 V1 도메인과 양성자 수송을 담당하는 막내 V0 도메인으로 구성됩니다.
V1 도메인은 9개의 소단위(A–H), V0 도메인은 5개의 소단위(a, d, c, c′, c″)로 이루어져 있습니다.
V-ATPase V1 B 소단위는 두 가지 이소폼(B1, B2)으로 존재하며, B1 이소폼은 내이에서 양성자 분비에 관여하여 정상적인 청각 기능을 유지하는 데 필요합니다.
해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 감각신경성 난청을 동반한 원위 세뇨관 산증을 유발할 수 있습니다.
B2 이소폼은 신장과 파골세포에서 발현됩니다.
