Target Information
LYRM1 was identified through suppression subtractive hybridization comparing expression in omental adipose tissue of obese vs. non-obese individuals. Studies show LYRM1 mRNA and protein levels are higher in obese individuals. It is widely expressed, with highest levels in adipose and liver tissues. LYRM1 promotes preadipocyte proliferation and inhibits apoptosis, influencing adipose tissue homeostasis by modulating preadipocyte pool size.
