Description:
The PC61.5 antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα). CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of the T and B lineage as well as by activated mature T and B lymphocytes. CD25 alone binds IL-2 with low affinity but forms a high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain). The PC61.5 antibody inhibits IL-2 binding to both high- and low-affinity receptor classes. CD25 plays a role in lymphocyte differentiation and activation/proliferation.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended usage is ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Endotoxin:
<0.05 ng/µg antibody (LAL assay).

CD25 (IL2RA):
CD25 encodes the IL-2 receptor alpha chain, a component of the heterotrimeric IL-2 receptor complex (with IL2RB and IL2RG). It regulates T and B lymphocyte proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. IL-2 signaling enhances NK cell activity and modulates immune responses. Mutations in IL2RA are linked to interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency and immune dysregulation disorders.
